We all have our set habits and routines when it comes to showering, such that the process has become automatic. Nevertheless, there are a few habits you can incorporate into your routine to help you achieve better skin and hair. Read on to find out how!
1. Take note of the water temperature
A really hot shower sounds like bliss during colder days, but hot water strips away the natural oils of your skin. Stick to lukewarm water instead to avoid over-drying your skin.
2. Detangle you hair beforehand
Since wet hair is more fragile and susceptible to breakage, it's a good idea to run a brush through your hair before you hop into the shower. Similarly, don't try to detangle your hair while conditioning, do it out of the shower instead.
3. Face after hair
You should only wash your face after you're completely done shampooing and conditioning, since runoff from products not designed for your face can lead to clogged pores and breakouts.
4. Keep it short
Try to finish your shower within 10 minutes, and treat yourself to a luxurious bath only once in a while. This decreases the chance of your skin being stripped of its natural oils.
5. Moisturise before and after
Most of us moisturise after every shower, but moisturising before can do wonders too. It sounds weird, but applying some body or facial oil before you hop into the shower can help your skin feel softer.
