If you’ve ever encountered negativity on social media, you know that it can really affect your day. People often project hate because it's so easy to hide behind the screen of a computer. Here are a few pieces of advice to help you move on and approach this negativity in a positive way.Image via Peace Love Shea
Delete the negative comments
The best thing to do when you receive a negative comment is to delete it immediately. If you leave it there, it will continue to grow on you. However, if you feel like you could reply something constructive without offending anyone, go for it! You just don’t want to start a conversation that would lead to more negativity on your profile. If you feel like the person could start again, just block his or her profile. It might not be the most effective solution, but they will eventually get over it.
Move on quickly, and stop worrying
Most of the time, people that leave negative comments don’t even know you personally. Move on quickly! It is not worth losing your energy for someone who made a nasty remark. Also, stop worrying about what other people believe, it’s what YOU think that matters.
Don’t make it personal
Again, these negative comments don’t define you; accept that you can’t please everyone. And if it is a direct attack, just forget it. You will eventually learn from these comments, whether they were on your Instagram profile, your blog, or elsewhere.
