What is your favorite designer store in New York?

Barneys New York because it's a one-stop-shop for all my favorite designers. The Barneys Chelsea Flagship store is also opening this month so double the amazingness!

How would you describe New York style?

New Yorkers do wear a lot of black in general, but I feel like it is also extremely varied and unlike any other city. We are not afraid of showing individuality and using it as a medium to express ourselves.

What’s the best place to grab a bite between shows?

A hot bowl of chicken pho at Saigon Shack or a benedict bowl at Egg Shop. Get your caffeine fix at at Birch, Stumptown, or Third Rail Coffee.

What designer/show are you most excited for?

Opening Ceremony for their always creative concepts (the last few shows have been directed by Spike Lee) and Mansur Gavriel for their beautiful showcases and color scheme.

What sets New York Fashion Week apart from the rest?

The sheer amount of people who come in for the shows - you can definitely feel the energy in the air.

What is your secret to looking perfectly fashionable from day to night during Fashion Week?

Comfortable shoes, but your outfit can be dressed to kill with a great bag and coat. I think there are so many comfortable chic shoe options out there right now, from fresh white kicks to low-heel ankle boots. I am also so glad platforms are in as well - a heaven's send for the height-challenged like me!

What is your favorite designer store in New York?

Barneys

What is your favorite vintage store in New York?

Beacon’s Closet

What’s the best place to grab a bite between shows?

Chelsea Market - it’s right beside Milk Studios and you can get anything there. My favourite is Los Tacos No.1.

What designer/show are you most excited for?

Marchesa - this is the first year I’ve been invited. Exciting to see those beautiful gowns in the real.

Whose street fashion are you most inspired by?

My favourite women to see attending are Veronique Tristram and Veronika Heilbrunner.

What is your secret to looking perfectly fashionable from day to night during Fashion Week?

I don’t think I’ve nailed this one yet… I plan my best looks for day. Usually I’ll just freshen my makeup and put on something black.

Do you plan on attending any other Fashion Weeks this season?

Yes, Milan and Paris.

What will you be wearing to the shows?

I would love to wear the following look on one of the NYFW days, warm enough, but ready for Spring at the same time:

What is your favorite designer store in New York?

I prefer to shop online, but if I have to pick my favorite “real-time” stores, it would be Barneys (best sale), Bergdorfs (great buy and beautiful store), and of course Zara (for the everyday basics and trend pieces, but that’s not designer of course!).

How would you describe New York style?

Free! You can really be yourself, as cliché as this may sound, but it’s true.

What’s the best place to grab a bite between shows?

Since all the shows are downtown now, mostly around Varick Street or in Meatpacking, I end up at Soho House, or the Soho Grand. At night, I love to go to the Waverly Inn, near the house, always a good crowd.

What designer/show are you most excited for?

I’m excited for all the new collections, but truthfully I’m very much looking forward to Rosie Assoulin presentation.

What sets New York Fashion Week apart from the rest?

New York City has such an incredible vibe that I haven’t found anywhere else in the world. Hence this is what makes Fashion Week here very uplifting, exciting, and of course, hectic too. You have to plan everything well, create the perfect schedule, and make sure you have a car to get you around.

Whose street fashion are you most inspired by?

Love how Leandra dresses, very unique and I like to think she wears what she truly loves. Inspiring.

What is your secret to looking perfectly fashionable from day to night during Fashion Week?

I don’t wear day-to-night looks usually, because I need at some point a run to the hotel, a change, or a cup of tea, before I can get out again at night. But layers work, especially in February in NY. Warm for when you’re outside, and easy to take something off inside at night. Good concealer, a blush, and lip balm to fight signs of tiredness. I almost never go out without sunglasses either! But I usually don’t wear them at night ;)

Do you plan on attending any other Fashion Weeks this season?

Yes, I’m going to Paris too. Some of my favorite designers are showing there, and I’m always beyond excited to hop on the plane to get there. Usually I come back homesick after Paris… Fashion Week is amazing, but it runs you down.
